Newton Al Fresco | Newton, MA

Working in collaboration with various City departments (Parks & Rec., Economic Development and Planning) and community partners (Eversource and Newton Community Pride), Al Fresco locations and parklets were created throughout the city to promote economic vitality for small, local businesses.

Local artists were paired with a restaurant to design and paint Jersey barriers and wooden electrical spools were transformed into bistro tables throughout various villages in Newton. In this effort, small restaurant businesses were supported while also supporting independent arts workers. Creating a space where the public feels comfortable and welcomed through the arts is ultimately benefits the economy of the City during the pandemic.
