Go Out Doors, Medford | Medford, MA

Go Out Doors, Medford is an exhibition of doors painted by 10 professional artists and 5 student artists, installed on a section of the Mystic River Path in Dugger Park, Medford. Originally inspired by the En Plein Air door installation on NYC’s High Line, Go Out Doors, is a regional public art campaign that promotes healthy outdoors activity, environmental appreciation, and inter-town regional tourism in Concord, Lexington, and Arlington (and now Medford!) along bike and walking paths. Working in collaboration with other administrators and artists, municipal departments such as Parks & Recreation and Public Works, it is the hope to bring the community “outdoors” to experience art in a (semi) post-pandemic world.

Doors were installed by adhering u-channels to either side of the door and then placing into the ground along the Mystic Pathway. Go Out Doors, Medford will also supplement a separate project along the river, Sound on Mystic, a site specific sound installation combining sound art, music, spoken word, and ambience into an immersive experience.
