Community Cameras | Newton, MA
Newton Community Cameras is a a community photo project that features pictures from local photographers that mark the impact the global pandemic has had on the lives of Newtonians.
How do we connect when we are physically distant? While COVID 19 impacted lives around the world, even in the early days of COVID-19, it became clear that the there was a need to document this life-altering event in a very personal way - through photography and our stories. How did it affect our families? Our work? Our community? Our own daily existence? Working in partnership with Historic Newton, and Newton Community Pride, residents were asked to document their experiences in the pandemic shutdown through the spring and summer of 2020. The community was asked to think about their own personal struggles and the struggles of their neighbors - to reconnect with ourselves, with each other, with humanity.
All submissions were archived with Historic Newton in order to document this time in history.
